Insurance companies do not want you to realize that the forms you were asked to complete and sign could harm your Sarasota, Venice or Lakewood Ranch auto accident injury claim. They are surely not going to explain to you that a recorded statement might be used against you later when you claim compensation. To the contrary, they want to play tricks on you that will allow them to avoid paying your damages. Now, this smells unfair. Insurance companies run a business and a main component of this business is profit. The more claims they deny, the more profitable their business. It does not seem like the right way to do business. But giving out money to resolve claims hurts their bottom line. Although there are many tactics frequently used by insurance companies to negate your claim, here are a few of their tricks to look out for: Delay in paying claims.
Low balling of medical bills.
Making false statements.
Requesting irrelevant information.
Behaving as if they were your friend. If you were injured in a car accident in Sarasota County or Manatee County, Florida, don’t let yourself become a victim of insurance company tactics. Read our previous post called “Six things not to do after a Bradenton auto accident.” At Harris Law Group, we serve auto accident victims in Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Lakewood Ranch and the rest of Southwest Florida.
