Manatee and Sarasota County Accident Injury Law Firm
Harris Law Group – Time for You
Harris Law Group is “different”. We do not rely on a large number of clients generated by TV, billboards, and yellow page ads. We don’t try to or claim to handle every kind of case. We can’t and don’t. Nor do we want to. Every year, we accept a limited number of injury, accident and disability claims from the hundreds of people who ask us to take their case. Harris Law Group is not a “TV advertising personal injury factory or mill”. Our legal assistants are not permitted to negotiate your claim with the insurance company adjuster. With less cases, Harris Law Group has more time for you and, we believe this allows us to get better results overall. Tom Harris, our injury attorney, has handled injury cases since 1982, and now has more than 29 years experience. Most of our cases are referred to us by former satisfied clients and by other attorneys and medical providers. If we accept your case and you are not local to us, we will come to you, anywhere in Florida. Unfortunately, many times the best advice you can get when you are thinking about an injury or accident lawsuit is that you do not have a claim that can be won. If this is the case, we will tell you so. We’ll also tell you if we think you can and should handle a claim yourself, without an attorney. But, if your case is up to our standards and we accept it, rest assured you will receive personal attention, as we micro manage each and every case. We will represent you aggressively, keep you informed on what is going on in your case, and give counsel as to whether you should settle your case out of court or litigate. We will explain our fees and costs fully before we start working on your case. We work together with you, as a team, and will choose the best stategy for your case.

This blog post is an exception to the usual "personal injury related only" rule on this blog. The Maryland Court of Appeals (Maryland's "supreme court") ruled unanimously today that Maryland must recognize as married same-sex couples who legally wed in other states. A married same sex couple from California sought a divorce here in M […]
Runaway juries are the big problem in medical malpractice cases. Juries see a sympathic plaintiff and, unchecked by reason, they start writing oversized checks. Liberal judges aid and abet the crime. This belief has taken deep root in Maryland - and in most states - that has led to the enactment of scores of laws to impede medical malpractice lawsuits. Most […]
Max Kennerly writes a really good post telling the story of how a defendant's medical malpractice lawyer tried to bully the plaintiffs' expert by writing the expert's hospital to express the concern that the expert's testimony might expose the hospital to significant liability. Malpractice defense lawyers learned this trick at the feet of […]
